Topic Film Production Fire Prevention & Fall Protection

Join us and learn how to identify the principles and procedures for fire prevention, production safety & emergency response in a production location as well as a session on fall protection.

During the fall protection sessions, you will learn how the regulations and standards interrelate and provide insight on recently and soon to-be released standards, including new updates related to full-body harnesses, self-retracting devices, energy absorbing lanyards and managed fall protection programs.

Speakers

Micah Auerbach – Micah Auerbach is a safety professional with over 20 years of experience in fire prevention, production safety, and emergency response. For the past 10 years, he has been with FOX Corporation, ensuring the safety of movie and television productions through effective safety protocols and risk management.

Chris Kumfer – With over 25 years of dedicated service at FOX Studios, Chris Kumfer, Director of Fire Prevention, has been a pivotal figure in ensuring fire safety and emergency preparedness within the entertainment industry.

Thomas E. Kramer PE, CSP – With nearly 30 years working at LJB Engineering, Thom is registered as both a professional engineer and as a certified safety professional. From an education background, he has both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in engineering, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree. He is the past chair of the ANSI Z359 full committee on fall protection and previously, was chair of three other ANSI Z359 subcommittees (Z359.1, Z359.6, Z359.17). Thom is the president of the International Society for Fall Protection and was elected in 2023 as the VP of Finance for the American Society of Safety Professionals.
