Safety Specialist

Role and Responsibilities Ensure clients are complaint with OSHA rules and regulations.

  • Performs forklift certifications and safety meetings as assigned by the Safety Manager and clients
  • Assists with trainings, safety and risk projects, reviews report for completeness and accuracy.
  • Conduct safety training or education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
  • Provide new-employee health and safety orientations and develop materials for these presentations.
  • Assists in conducting client site safety audits to identify improper procedures, checks equipment and facilities for hazardous conditions, and recommends corrective actions.
  • Assist in monitoring policies, procedures, programs, standards, and design criteria affecting client’s safety at multiple Locations.
  • Assists in Investigations complaints and on-site accidents to determine root cause and recommend effective hazard controls.
  • Assists in conducting inspections at sites to determine if employees may be exposed to unhealthy conditions and makes appropriate recommendations.
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing injury, claim, and safety survey statistical data to write technical reports and make presentations to clients regarding job site.
  • Coordinates client safety activities such as project site safety audits and attends safety incentive meetings.
  • Assists in the review of Injury Illness and Prevention Programs (IIPPs) for accuracy and conformance with safety standards.

Safety Manager

Role and Responsibilities include supporting and developing processes that support the ongoing safety awareness and injury prevention throughout the organization:

  • Identify, reduce and eliminate loss for worker injuries and workers compensation claims.
  • Conduct, coordinate and energize employee training, including annual refresher & new hire training required by the company and all regulatory agencies (OSHA).
  • Training, documenting, and maintaining safety files
  • Provide Forklift Operators with proper training and certification for each facility.
  • Facilitate Cal-Osha program.
  • Investigates, compiles and responds to Cal-Osha and other State Agencies
  • Perform monthly comprehensive facility safety audits to ensure continual improvement.
  • Compile, analyze, and distribute weekly, monthly, and quarterly safety reports to all management.
  • Actively participate on weekly conference calls regarding Safety and Compliance.
  • Provide managers/supervisors the necessary training to obtain detailed descriptions, corrective actions and follow through to ensure corrective actions are implemented related to accidents, near misses, injuries or property damage.
  • Assist risk management with all accident investigations
  • Conduct Physical inspections of all work areas and buildings for any unsafe acts of hazards.
  • Write procedures in organized, clear, compliant, and professional manner.
  • Represent the company and provide expert guidance through inspections by regulatory agencies and insurance companies.
  • Respond quickly to reports of safety incidents, manage investigations, and remedial actions.
  • Ensure that the specific Health and Safety Plans are accurate, effective, and compliant.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Risk or Executive Staff.
